Feast of the Seven Fishes

One of our favorite holiday traditions at Cortez Conservas is the Feast of the Seven Fishes, celebrated on Christmas Eve. It’s considered one the oldest Italian food traditions, as the Roman Catholic church had a custom of abstaining from meat until Christmas Day. The meal typically consists of seven different seafood dishes, hence the “feast!” We think it’s a great way to introduce bottarga to friends or family who might not have yet had the pleasure of trying it. Here are a couple of our favorite recipes to incorporate into your feast.
